Newmarket soccer players featured

Olivia Blackadar and Jackie Prompradit

Seacoast Online (subscription required to read stories) recently highlighted players to watch for this fall's boys and girls soccer seasons. Here are the five Newmarket student-athletes featured, along with excerpts from the stories:

BOYS

Jackie Prompradit, junior defender: Prompradit was named second team all-state in Division IV last season and is the foundation of the Mules' defense. "Great anticipation as a center back," said coach Kenny Najem.

Matt Napoletano, junior midfielder: Napoletano led Newmarket in scoring last season and received Division IV honorable mention all-state honors last year. He also excels at setting up his teammates.

GIRLS

Jillian Long, senior forward: "Our top scorer from last year, Jillian just continues to get better," said Newmarket coach Andrew Dawson. "She's strong at holding the ball, has a nose for the goal, and is great at turning her defender."

AJ Mulligan, junior midfielder: Mulligan was a Division IV all-state first-team selection last year, and coach Andrew Dawson said Mulligan's skills and tenacity make her  avital part of the team's success."

Olivia Blackadar, senior midfielder/striker: Blackadar was a Division IV first team all-state last year and helped the Mules to the Division IV championship. "Just when you think this kid is playing her top game, she surprises us with another level," Newmarket head coach Andrew Dawson said.
