Dear Newmarket parents, guardians, teachers, students, and community members,
It hasn’t felt like it lately, but spring is here. With the calendar switching to April comes an increase in activity at the schools. The spring musical, Little Shop of Horrors, opens this weekend, spring sports season gets going next week, and many end of year events will be coming soon. The Newmarket Schools are a happening place to be in the spring.
Now that we are heading into the home stretch of the 2024-25 school year I wanted to follow up to share some general information and a few reminders.
At the April 3rd Newmarket School Board meeting the official last day of school was set. The last day of school for students will be Friday, June 13. This day will be an early dismissal with NJSHS dismissing at 11:30 and NES dismissing at 12:00. The last in-person day for teachers will be Monday, June 16.
Newmarket High School Graduation is scheduled for Friday, June 6. Information on the specifics of graduation related events will come from the school administration in the coming weeks. You will also be hearing from school administrators at both schools in the coming weeks about a variety of end of year activities. Be on the lookout for it.
The official 2025-2026 Newmarket School District Calendar is available on the school website. The first day of the 25-26 school year for all students will be Tuesday, August 26. Teachers return on Thursday, August 21.
I would like to close by thanking the community for supporting the school district at the polls on March 11. It was wonderful to see the resounding support that the community gave to our proposed budget, teachers contract and other warrant articles. At a meeting with district teachers last week I reminded staff just how fortunate we all are to work in the Newmarket School District. Despite all of the turmoil directed at public education the Newmarket Community continues to fully support our schools. For that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With gratitude,
Todd Allen, Newmarket Superintendent
